Dr MayLea Ong practices evidence-based medicine by consolidating her own clinical expertise with the best available systematic clinical evidence. However, she also believes that every patient is different, and therefore investigations and treatment options are personalized to each of her patient’s needs and background.
Her areas of interest include diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, parathyroid disorders and calcium metabolism, adrenal and pituitary disorders, hypertension and testosterone deficiency.
She was trained in Internal Medicine and was awarded Membership to the Royal College of Physicians of London (MRCP). Dr Ong subsequently received further training in the specialties of Endocrinology in Monash, Western and Barwon Health in Victoria and is a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
Dr MayLea Ong is a VMO at the Western Health network of hospitals and is involved in the mentoring and training of basic physician trainees.
She is also multilingual and also provides consultation in Cantonese and Malay.
